ANCIENT GREEK MUSIC WORKSHOP

This year's ANIMART begins the implementation of an experiential Workshop of Ancient Greek Music and Instrument Manufacturing in Delphi, in the place where Apollo, God of Music, was worshiped. In the long sacred silence of Delphi, the sound of the lyre, flute and other ancient greek instruments will be heard again.

The aim of the Workshop is to bring knowledge into practice through a simple participatory process where the scientific approach of the issues will cover the need for knowledge and the research in the relevant subjects will be an incentive for a fundamental education.

The whole project seeks to approach, study, understand and use the preserved legacy of music of the ancient Greek world, in the context of modern creativity, where the new media and the Internet facilitate and co-shape the musical universe of the 21st century.

The aim of the effort is to interact with the corresponding music of other cultures, to exchange knowledge and experience and to learn and improve skills on ancient Greek music instruments, as part of a process of self-awareness and reflection.
